What To Expect

Thian Hock Keng Temple
The Thian Hock Keng Temple is one of Singapore’s most important Hokkien temples. Located on what used to be the shoreline (before the land reclamation work began in the 1880s), it was a must-stop destination to thousands of Chinese immigrants in the past.

It was built using southern Chinese aspects and was dedicated to ‘Mazu’ who was known by Taoists as the protector of seamen in their voyages ever since 1821.

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum
The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum is located in Chinatown. It was built to house the Buddha Tooth Relic in a stupa made out of gold and contributed to by its followers

The temple looks grand and lavish from the outside and inside it is as equally decorative and colourful. The temple keeps information regarding the Buddha’s history on the second floor and other consecrated remnants of the Buddha on the third floor.
